Trump's transportation chair is INVESTIGATING California waste, but how he shut down protestors is where he shined
There are few things progressives enjoy signaling their virtue over more than high-speed rail. There are also a few things progressives have blown more taxpayer money on other than developing a high-speed rail system in America. What "high-speed rail system," you ask? That's what Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy wants to ask California. Tens of billions of taxpayer dollars have been spent, yet a high-speed rail is not to be seen.
Protestors interrupted Duffy's protest. These are progressive protestors, so there is a good chance they didn't know why they were there. They were screaming about high-speed rail, and it's possible they were blaming Elon Musk and the Oligarchy for the lack of it. Side note: I saw Elon and the Oligarchies open for Hinder in 2007.
Duffy reminded the protestors who is to REALLY blame. We've been waiting all our lives to see Republicans shut down people like this.

"I think they were chanting 'Build the rail'? It's been 17 years and $16 billion, and no rail has been built. So, if you want to go protest somewhere, and if you want to shout at someone, go to the governor's mansion. Go talk to Democrats in the legislature who have brought us this crappy project."
People swooned.
My Lord, this is beautiful.

Duffy was joined by Congressman Kevin Kiley, who, God willing, will be the next governor of California.
Today I joined U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy to announce an investigation into CA High-Speed Rail, which could claw back $4.3 billion in federal funds. Amusingly, a few protestors showed up in support of the boondoggle.

How well Duffy does here, ironically, also has to do with one of the biggest criticisms the left and the media (but I repeat myself) have about a lot of Donald Trump's appointees: that they were a bunch of reality show stars and Fox News hosts. Duffy, besides being a former district attorney and congressman, got his start on MTV's The Real World: Boston. And it's about flippin' time someone on the right considered communication skills and how to handle the media as an important job qualification.
Republicans have traditionally been very good at remembering statistics and developing white papers on policy. Communicating what those statistics and policies mean? Not so much so. That's why the most media-savvy politician of all time decided that the people tasked with advancing his agenda needed to be as media savvy. Elaine Chao and Mary Peters (look 'em up) could never handle a crowd or the press like this.
Trump v 2.0 is firing on all cylinders. It's fantastic to watch.
Side note: I interviewed Sean and Rachel Campos-Duffy (Real World: San Francisco) at a conference twelve years ago, and they were two of the prettiest people I've ever seen up close. It was as if they were walking around everywhere with their own lighting.
